Raja Hindustani



"Raja Hindustani" is a Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Dharmesh Darshan and released in 1996. The movie stars Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles and revolves around the story of Raja, a taxi driver, and Aarti, a wealthy woman, who fall in love against all odds.

The film begins with Raja (Aamir Khan), an uneducated but kind-hearted taxi driver, working in Mumbai. Aarti (Karisma Kapoor), a wealthy and educated young woman, visits the city with her friends. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Aarti and her friends miss their train back home. In need of transportation, they hire Raja's taxi.

Aarti's father, Mr. Sehgal (Suresh Oberoi), strongly disapproves of their relationship and opposes their union.

Undeterred by societal barriers, Raja and Aarti decides to elope and get married against her father's wishes. They settle in a small village, away from the city's luxuries, and start a life together. However, their struggles are far from over.

Raja finds it difficult to adapt to the rural lifestyle, and Aarti's father continues to hold a grudge against their marriage. The couple faces financial hardships, and Raja works hard to provide for their needs. Meanwhile, Aarti becomes pregnant, and their love is tested further as they try to navigate their challenges while nurturing their growing family.

The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, societal norms, and the strength of relationships. Raja and Aarti's bond is tested through various emotional trials, including misunderstandings, family conflicts, and societal pressures. However, their unwavering love for each other serves as the driving force that keeps them together.
